Forest and grass fires ended our idyllic trip through Big Sur. Kate and I never made it to San Francisco and were forced to return to LA after our incredible journey. Where this leaves the two of us is hard to say. Friends for sure...and after the trip, something more.
Ray is due home at the end of next week and I've been trying to get as much work done as possible before his arrival and an our anticipated reunion. I've been pretty successful in getting my work published online at places like Cleansheets, ERWA, Oysters and Chocolate, and Ruthie's Club. And winning that prize with Desdmona last summer was a pretty big deal. But I've not really tried publication, prior to this year, in print anthologies. But lately, I've been busy.
I recently submitted to Swing's anthology, edited by fellow ERWA member Jolie Du Pre. My submission, "Dez Moinez" is a hot little number about an ordinary midwestern couple's journey into "swingerdom." My submission to the upcoming For the Girl's Contest is entitled "A Lover in the House of Spies." While the title of the story is a play on a collection by Anais Nin, the theme is "transgression." The characters in my story, all of them, transgress make no mistake. Oh, and I almost forgot the story I submitted to another anthology with a "spanking theme." This story "On the Western Front" is a little over the top, but has just enough edge and quirkiness to be selected.
This week, I'm continuing work on a new novel and beginning another story to be submitted to an anthology, this one with a BDSM theme. And I'll have a new post with a new story on this site.
I'm definitely back in the saddle.
Check out more of my stories in my new collection at Tight Women in Hard Places.
